When I need a break from life, I enjoy turning to volunteer work, such as the following:
- Austin Humane Society: adopted my cat from here and visit frequently to play with the animals and deliver needed items/treats
- TherapyWorks: volunteer time on a ranch that houses abused horses
- Operation Blue Santa: wrapped Christmas presents with my PR team
- Home-Organizing: provided my OCD ways to help a family of seven keep their Austin home clean and orderly, while they’re busy with life; also included house-sitting, plant-sitting and painting for several different families
- Babysitting: have been caring for children – from newborn to 13 – since my early-teen years; used as my primary source of income during my college years
- ISOJ 2012: volunteered during the event on UT’s campus; took in advice from experts in my field
- New Century Hospice: visited hospice patients; completed various office tasks
- Sigma Phi Lambda: a year of community service, such as garden work for a children’s hospital and a bake sale for Haiti; elected as 2010 Historian, due to my creative style
- FBC Mission Team: Germany (relational mission); Philadelphia (VBS and remodeling); Arlington (VBS with Mission Arlington); raised money for brain tumor victim, St. Jude’s and homeless through a gospel singing event and luncheons
- FBC Youth Team Student Leader: planned and organized Wednesday night’s youth group; led weekly Bible study; elected as one of two students to serve on 2007 Pastor Search Committee
